InPhase Solutions signs contract with Badger Explorer ASA

Trondheim 2014-02-19

InPhase Solutions AS has signed a research and development contract with Badger Explorer ASA. Our assignment is part of a 3 year, 32.4 MNOK Norwegian Research Council (RCN) PetroMaks-2 grant, awarded to Badger Explorer.

Badger Explorer ASA is a Stavanger-based company listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. The company is developing technology for the Badger Explorer concept.

The Badger Explorer is a revolutionary method to obtain subsurface data for oil & gas exploration, mapping of hydrocarbon resources, and long-term surveillance. The Badger Explorer drills and buries itself underground, carrying a unique package of logging and monitoring sensors, at a substantially lower risk, cost and complexity than utilizing an expensive drilling rig.

The RCN grant supports the development of HPHT (high pressure high temperature) ultrasonic technology in the drilling and compaction units of the Badger Explorer.

“We are very excited about this contract and the collaboration with the excellent technology team at Badger. This contract demonstrates InPhase Solutions value as a high-competence R&D partner for Norwegian industry working with advanced ultrasound solutions”, states InPhase General Manager Svein-Erik Måsøy.

We have assembled a very strong team for this project and look forward to contributing to the exciting Badger Explorer concept”, says InPhase Project Manager Marco M. Voormolen.
